This PAIR of Ikon shocks is the correct fitment and application for all 1970-'84 twin shock models* - EXCEPT R65 & R65LS.
Experience superior "KONI" handling and control with these high-performance shocks which are designed and built by IKON to exactly the same quality standards as their namesake. Back in the day, it was often the very first thing a BMW owner did with his brand new bike: take off the stock shocks and install Konis. It was the best way to achieve suspension excellence that the stock units were just incapable of delivering.
• Externally adjustable rebound dampening with just a finger touch.
• Progressive-rate spring is adjustable to three pre-load positions.
• Chrome finish shock body.
• Rebuildable and revalvable.
• Pre-load adjustment tool and four mounting bushings included.
IKON Suspension is an Australian company that has been manufacturing Koni design shock absorbers under an exclusive license agreement with Koni since they stopped making motorcycle shocks in the year 2000. While carrying on the deep Koni heritage and reputation, Ikon also proudly continues R & D, not only improving their legacy products but developing new ones as well. Ikon shocks are ridden and raced all over the world by motorcyclists just like you.
*For those concerned with correct APPEARANCE, these shocks will look correct for 1977-'84 models (/7 and later) which did not originally have polished metal top covers. For correct appearance on 1970-'73 models (/5), request these shocks fitted with replica smooth top covers. And for '74-'76 (/6 & R90S) models, request them fitted with replica top covers that were shorter with 3 grooved rings.
Additionally, please note that when installed on 1970-'73 Slash-5 models, these shocks will provide a slightly taller ride height. That's because they're longer than the original /5 shocks by about a half inch. Most riders will find this to be advantageous to handling.
