1973 LONG Wheel Base (LWB)* R60/5 & R75/5 and 1974 R60/6, R75/6, & R90/6 models.
The seat is COMPLETE with the distinctive chrome rail, front and rear hinges, adjustable locking pin, all trim fixtures and rubber frame bumpers. Basically, you drop it on in place of your old seat, adjust the hinge position, screw in the lock pin and adjust its height for proper actuation and you're set to ride off. Your bike will look instantly thirty years younger, and you'll be proud!
The vinyl cover material has the same texture, front-to-back embossed rib pattern, and white trim welts as the original did. The foam is shaped correctly and appropriately firm for a comfortable ride. The bottom pan is painted steel, also like the original.
COMPARE! The stock BMW replacement seat costs over $600, it does not come with hinges which cost another $80 — AND only comes in the later /6 style which does not have the correct look. Our reproduction seat is a great value!
*Some early 1973 models were still Short Wheel Base (SWB) frames. If you're not sure whether your bike is SWB or LWB, check the bike's serial number. R60/5 LWB is #2 947 967 and later. R75/5 LWB is #2 997 987 and later.
