It was a long winter but many of our customers didn’t let that stop them from having fun with the team at Bob’s BMW, and winning some great prizes along the way! Riders came from near and far to participate in our first annual “Road to the Arts” and “High Mileage Polar Bear Challenge.”
High Mileage Polar Bear Challenge
The Polar Bear Challenge was a 4-month high mileage challenge that attracted over 30 riders, locally and out of state. We were thrilled with level of interest and look forward to doing it again next year! Thanks to all that participated and a big thanks to Rev’it USA and Gerbing Heated Gear for sponsoring the challenge and donating such great prizes each month including two additional grand prizes for the male and female cumulative high mile riders. Congratulations to all who survived this year’s Polar Bear Challenge! We hope to see you and many more next year for the 2nd annual event. Road to the Arts
Bob’s motorcycle version of “Road to the Arts” originated from the efforts of Howard County Arts Council to integrate art within the community by placing sculptures throughout the county every year. The contest challenged motorcycle riders—all makes and models—to visit Bob’s BMW located in Jessup, MD, pick up a “Road to the Arts” map provided by the council, visit as many ARTsites listed on that map, take a selfie in front of each sculpture, and email their pictures in for a chance to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant. A minimum of 6 ARTsites had to be visited, and riders’ “selfies” had to show them in motorcycle gear, and in front of the sculptures. Eligible participants were entered into a drawing to win $50-$100 gift certificates donated by the BEST restaurants in Howard County: Aida Bistro, The Iron Bridge Wine Company, The Kings Contrivance, Frisco tap House and Brewery, Café de Paris, and Portallis.
Thirteen riders participated this year and with the contest running in March, a month that had two snowstorms, Bob’s is looking forward to an even bigger turnout next year! This year’s lucky winners were:
Winner | Prize |
Craig Dyson | $75 gift certificate to Café de Paris |
George Van Mater | $50 gift certificate to The Kings Contrivance |
Janet Conley | $50 gift certificate to Aida Bistro |
Jeff Eaby | $50 gift certificate to RANAZUL |
